What is Potpourri?
Potpourri is a combination of things that have nothing in common.
Potpourri at The Quilting Needle is a set of courses offered each quarter, but there’s no homework or prep work! Each month will be featuring a technique or instruction that course members will learn hands-on. Courses will be approximately 1.5 hours long, please plan your time accordingly.
*Not all, but some courses may have a small kit fee.*
Potpourri fee is $25 per quarter
Your $25 fee secures your spot for the three monthly quarterly courses.
There will be a Monday @5:30pm or Wednesday @11am option to participate for the month.
You will receive 10% off purchases made on your class days.
You will get a 20% off discount on all of the featured items for that quarter.

For each course you attend, you will receive a raffle ticket for a drawing to be held at the end of each quarter. Kit prices for each month will vary depending on the project or technique. This will be a separate fee.
The instructor leading each class will vary from all the talent here at The Quilting Needle.

Foundation Paper Piecing Mini Heart card
Learn the technique of foundation paper piecing and how to construct this mini heart designed by Carol Doak to send a special someone a lovely FPP card.

FEBRUARY
Sew Kind of Wonderful
Quick Curve Ruler (QCR)
This hands on demonstration will show you three different ways how to use the ruler. A QCR ruler is not required for this class, but you will have the opportunity to purchase the ruler at 20% off.
There are many unique patterns that this ruler can achieve and we want to show you how!

Jumbo Lazy Angle
In this course you will learn how to use the Jumbo Lazy Angle ruler by Jaybird Quilts. We will walk you through a hands on demonstration of this ruler.

Binding
In this course you will be taught a method in how to properly bind using the Binding Miter Tool by Jackie’s Animas Quilts. This particular course is hands-on.

Free-form Piecing
In this course you will be shown the method of freeform piecing with the pattern Acrobatic for Villa Rosa Designs. This course particular course is a demo.

Sashiko
In this course you will be shown the method of decorative stitching from Japan called Sashiko. This is a functional embroidery type of stitching that will give your projects something extra!

AUGUST
Pillow Case with Border Prints
You will learn how to us border print fabrics to create these adorable pillow cases. Border prints can sometimes be intimidating, but this course will make you comfortable when it comes to border fabrics.

Fusible Grid Interfacing
This course will show you how to correctly sew a 2.5″ fusible interfacing grid and the possibilities that can be created from it. This will give your projects that extra touch of patchwork look!
