RHONDA
I fell in love with the sound of a sewing machine at a very young age.  One thing lead to another, and soon I found myself making my own clothes.  While I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, I began making quilts and a longarm was not far in my future.  That long arm helped me build my business into what it is today.  From then on, the rest is all that is
The Quilting Needle.

KATIE
In 2020 I decided to make a quilt for each of my daughters.  I thought, if I’m ever going to do it, the time is now!  I then started making smaller projects for my girls, and I realized that I was in love with sewing.  Since then I have made different projects and quilts, but I still have a lot to learn.  I am always excited to see the beautiful fabrics and what people are making with them!  Sewing will most definitely be a part of my life for a very long time.

SHIRLEY
Little did I know when I joined 4-H at ten years old, it would trigger a passion for sewing that would continue throughout my life.  New patterns, fabrics and learning new skills still makes my heart sing!
Hopefully when you visit the shop, I can share a little of the joy I have for all things sewing.

ANNE
I’ve been quilting for over 20 years.  I love working with bright colors and grey is my favorite neutral.  I also love to teach quilters to help them gain more confidence and different skills.  One of my favorite parts of working in a quilt shop is helping quilters with their fabric choices for their projects.

CAROL
I have always enjoyed sewing.  When I was a young kid, my mother would let me make simple things like pillow cases with French seams.  I started quilting in the early 80’s and my first quilt was hand pieced using templates.  I love fabrics and my favorite colors are all of them!

MISSY

I have been sewing since I was 5 years old, my grandmother was a seamstress and made draperies and slipcovers, in addition to a little bit of everything else.  I learned to sew by playing in her sewing room with the upholstery fabric scraps.  In 4-H I learned basic garment sewing and in high school I made my first quilt.  Upon moving to Pittsburgh 30 years ago, I was fortunate to make great friends with others who had the same interest of sewing and quilting, I have been making quilts and bags ever since.  I love bright colors and my motto is “don’t say you can’t do something if you have not tried”.
